Teen Drawing/Beginners: Middle/High School (Session 4)
October 6, 13, 20, 27 (4 Classes Included)
$125 | $100 Members
This beginner-friendly teen drawing workshop introduces students to the fundamentals of figure drawing in a supportive, creative environment. We begin by learning how to build a strong foundation using simple skeletal structures, helping students understand proportion, balance, and movement. As the class progresses, we gradually develop these frameworks into full figures, exploring form, gesture, and basic anatomy. By the end of the workshop, students will feel more confident bringing their drawings to life, with a deeper understanding of how the human body is constructed and expressed through art. No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to learn! Bring a sketchbook, but all other materials will be provided
Hit the Deck: After-School Pop-Up Art Class for Teens

Working on custom-cut paper scaled to a real deck, you'll take your concept from a rough sketch to a finished, portfolio-ready piece of street art.

Paint, Play & Create: A 6-Week Painting Adventure
Over the course of six weeks, students will jump into a colorful painting adventure where they can experiment, discover, and build confidence as young artists. Through watercolor, tempera, and acrylic painting, students will explore color mixing, brush techniques, texture, layering, pattern, and composition while creating their own unique works of art. Each week introduces new materials and techniques, encouraging students to try something new, make creative choices, and discover that there is more than one way to make a great painting.
Most importantly, this class is about giving children the freedom to explore their imagination and express their ideas through art. Students will learn to trust their creative instincts, solve artistic problems, and take pride in their individual choices. By the end of the six weeks, each student will have created a collection of original paintings while developing new skills, greater confidence, and an understanding that mistakes and experimentation are an important part of the creative process.
Week 1: Watercolor Wonderlands
Introduce watercolor basics: loading the brush, water-to-paint ratios, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and color mixing. Students create an imaginative landscape—perhaps a magical forest, outer space, underwater world, or fantasy place.
Week 2: Underwater Worlds
Explore transparent layers and blending. Students create colorful underwater scenes with fish, coral, sea plants, bubbles, and other creatures. This gives them a chance to experiment with watercolor without worrying about making things "realistic."
Week 3: Colorful Creatures
Move into tempera paint. Introduce primary/secondary colors and mixing. Students invent an animal by combining different shapes and features, then paint it with bold colors.
Week 4: Painted Garden
Explore texture and mark-making. Students experiment with different brushes and unconventional tools—sponges, cotton swabs, cardboard, fingers, etc.—to create flowers and plants. They can build an entire imaginary garden.
Week 5: Mini Masterpieces
Introduce acrylic paint and the idea of working in layers. Students paint a simple still life or landscape. This is a good week to talk about foreground, middle ground, and background in an age-appropriate way.
Week 6: My Big Painting
Students get more independence. They choose what they want to paint and use techniques from the previous five weeks.
*Dual Language provided and encouraged!

Self-Portrait: More Than a Face
What does a portrait say about you beyond what you look like? In this hands-on painting experience, students will explore self-portraiture as a way to express personality, identity, mood, and personal style. Students will learn the fundamentals of portrait painting, including proportion, facial features, color mixing, value, light, and shadow, while experimenting with techniques that allow their individual artistic voices to come through.

Dates: October 7, 14, 21, and 28 (Registration includes all four classes.)
Travel through history and around the world in this exciting month-long mask-making class for children. Young artists will explore the cultural traditions and stories behind masks from different regions and time periods, learning how masks have been used in celebrations, theater, ceremonies, and storytelling.
Students will sketch original designs and build their own wearable masks using cardboard construction techniques and paper mâché sculpture. Throughout the class, children will learn how to shape forms, add texture, paint details, and bring their creative characters to life.
This hands-on class encourages imagination, creativity, and artistic problem-solving while introducing basic sculpture and mixed-media techniques. By the end of the month, each child will complete a unique, fully decorated mask inspired by both historical traditions and their own creative ideas.
Perfect for imaginative kids who love building, painting, and exploring art from around the world.
